仙山之祖昆嵛山是全真教的发祥地，自然景观雄伟神奇，名胜古迹掩隐山林，道教文化源远流长，具有深厚的文化底蕴，名声享誉中外。养马岛素有“东方夏威夷”之美称，昔日为秦始皇养马宝地，岛上风光秀丽，气候宜人，是省级旅游度假区。南山北海，孕育了古老的全真文化和山海文化，形成了山载万物，海纳百川的人文精神。采仙山之精华，吸大海之灵气，烟台市牟平山海文化研究会应运而生，经烟台市牟平区民政局批准依法成立，为社会团体法人，业务主管单位为烟台市牟平区文化局。
烟台市牟平山海文化研究会的宗旨: 遵守国家法律，遵守社会公德，秉承传统文化，弘扬民族精神，研究山海文化，宣传人文精神，开展文化活动，为构建和谐社会服务。
山海文化研究会的业务范围：组织民间文化研究爱好者，立足山海特色文化，研究、宣传、挖掘传统文化价值，拓展特色文化的服务功能。以昆嵛山和养马岛的海上自然景观及人文景观为依托，对山海文化进行挖掘整理，研究探讨；以开展书画展览、武术交流等文体活动为平台，推介山海文化；将山海文化同旅游文化和企业文化相结合，扩大本地旅游资源和优秀企业的知名度；充分利用自身优势，以开展各种文体活动为载体，全面打造优秀的社会文化传播交流平台，为发展经济和繁荣文化事业服务。

会长（兼秘书长）：鲍玉平，男，1974年生，大学文化。国际武术段位七段（编号20080925009），国际一级武术教练（编号20080925006）,国际螳螂拳联谊会教练，《中国武术网》副总编，《中国书画艺术网》副总编，山东省文化厅《齐鲁艺谭》杂志社副主编，烟台市收藏家协会理事，为世界著名武术家、“神州第一剑”李宗贵大师入室弟子，道家无极内功拳正宗传人，“龙形螳螂拳”第四代传人。
自幼习武，勤奋好学，先后师从烟台、威海、大连、武当山等地的武术名家，曾拜多名民间老拳师学习传统武技，数十年如一日的勤学苦练！由于他勤奋好学，悟性出众、毅力超人，30岁以后，在武功上反而大有长进。于2008年4月17-19日，参加了在中国湖南由“世界传统武术联合会”举办、由“华夏武术发展中心”主办的“华夏武状元国际争霸赛”，以34岁的年龄夺得了“华夏武状元”的称号，并被组委会授予“金腰带”的至高荣誉！比赛现场，接受了新华社人民日报网记者的专访（详情可百度：中国武术网、人民日报图片网、艺术中国、博武国际、胶东在线、运动烟台、湖南电视台都市栏目、体育频道等相关媒体）。他所习练的“龙形螳螂拳、“游龙追魂剑”、少林地功拳、道家秘传无极拳、八卦掌、劈挂、三节棍、苗刀、少林春秋大刀等皆能展现出多年勤学苦悟的内涵风格，日臻名家风范。 2008年5月8日，组织成立了中国烟台市牟平山海文化研究会（社证字FC046），并被选为会长。主要从事山海文化的研究、宣传、挖掘和提升，组织全真武术文化交流和展示活动。
2008年6月28日，山海文化研究会在牟平区商业宾馆举行了隆重的揭牌仪式，烟台市农工民主党肖维宏副主委和世界著名武术家李宗贵大师一同为研究会成立揭牌。牟平区文化局、旅游局、民政局、公路局、电业集团、人民医院、安德利果汁集团有限公司、文化办事处、宁海办事处等单位领导出席了揭牌仪式。
2008年9月13日，他经过近一年的精心组织，在牟平区委、区政府及相关部门的大力支持下，在社会各界的广泛参与下，成功举办了“2008届中国昆嵛山·养马岛全真武术文化国际交流大会，共有来自五国七省市代表队参加。为提升牟平全真道文化和山海文化在国际、国内的知名度，他三上北京、济南、大连、澳门等地，特邀原中国国家武协副主席、国际武术技术委员会主任张山；世界传统武术联合会主席孟宪堂；80年代曾红遍世界的经典武打影片《少林寺》主演于海；世界著名武术家、“神州第一剑”李宗贵；电影《井冈山》青年毛泽东的扮演者、国家一级特型演员金阳等名家齐聚盛会！香港国际武术节组委会、香港大公报、阳光卫视发来贺幅、贺信，在国际国内产生了较大的的反响！大会期间，鲍玉平在中国全真道文化发祥地牟平昆嵛山接受了中央电视台的专访，他的武术专题先后在中央电视台、牟平电视台、烟台电视台(WWW.CCTV.COM“螳螂武痴”鲍玉平)播放。“全真祖庭昆嵛山”、“皇家马苑”养马岛和他的“螳螂武痴”一同展现在全国观众面前。
